Food partiality

Food is a very pivotal for living organisms, as it provides various nutrients which are critical for growth and survival. But there are foods which are high in calories and sugar, and not in nutrients like minerals. These consist of fast food, candies or sweets, etc. Eating a plethora of them could have morbid consequences like cholesterol in your bloodstream, diabetes, and increased obesity.  These unhealthy foods can lead to climate change because the production of these foods increases greenhouse gas. We should be very mindful of our food choices, as they could not only affect you but also the environment. That begs the question, How can food affect the environment?  Unsustainable food production can affect the environment by emitting greenhouse gasses. One of the most unsustainable food production is fishing. Large quantities of fishing can affect the food chain, and then the environment. About 30% of harvested food is wasted, we need to decrease this number.

Having a balanced diet

Having a balanced diet can help your body to have even growth. Having a balanced diet can protect you against diseases. It also provides nutrients to your body which are crucial for survival and can prevent obesity.  A healthy diet consists of a variety of sustenance, green vegetables, proteins, dairy products, pulses, and fiber.  Most balanced diet followers tend to not eat food that has a high amount of fat in it. They eat more fruits and vegetables, like cucumber, lettuce, spinach, or broccoli. Meat is also part of the diet, as it is the number one provider of B12. You can choose which meat you want, fish, chicken etc.  For dairy products, you can eat cheese or yogurt. About 70% of the diet should consist of carbohydrates. Many people don't follow a balanced diet. Research from five us agencies shows that 74.1% of Indians cannot afford to keep a healthy lifestyle.

Sustainable food practices

There are many ways of doing this, you can start by reducing food wastage, it takes a lot of resources to make food, and if you waste it, it is a loss of resources like water, oil, etc. Another important unsustainable practice is overfishing, fishing in small amounts is ok, but if you overfish, then it's bad for the environment.  It will affect the environment because the loss of fish means that most marine animals also don't get food. These all contribute to unsustainability. It can lead to soil erosion water shortages and even deforestation. This is why it is important to make the right food choices.  If you don't, it can impact you in the long run. Food suggestions

A sustainable diet does not have to be complicated, eating healthier foods is good, but some recipes use these ingredients and make one nutritious meal. Uttapam is a dish famous in South India. Start by making or buying dosa batter, which consists of wheat and urad dhal. Put a pan on the stove, when it gets hot and there is no water, add oil, spread it across the pan, and add the batter, make sure it is thick, so we can add vegetables. Then, add cuts of tomatoes or any vegetables you would like. Uttapam has carbohydrates, and the vegetables give nutrients, which means this is a perfect choice for a balanced diet. In conclusion, food sustainability has a major impact on how we live and will continue to live. New and more advanced technology may be able to help to keep the production of food sustainable.
